Experiences...

Masha-Allah...

It's HOLIDAY! Haha, at last!

How long have it been?
2 months I guess, leaving this blog un-updated.

While my life is actually updated a lot.

IDC...

...exams (the result was freaking 'awesome', I wanna puke)

.... played hockey 4 school! (I'm new to it and it's fun and awesome~)

....judging at KDU (a whole new experience! Got to know a lot of people..)

...vacation with friends at Penang

... and currently, English drama in district level.

That's a lot for the first months. But now, I'm in a dilemma.

Our debate trainer, Brother Fakhry offered me and the others to participate in a Debate Open where Ill be teamed up with him. I really want to join it! But I have to pay quite a lot for it. But my parents don't really care about the fee, so...I'll think I'll participate the debate..

TAPI....

I'm also participating in the English drama. They didn't clash with each other but...they'll be held very close to each other. So, should I let go of this drama competition? Or, just try to cope with two competitions? OR, let go of the debate competition? No no no..

So, what do you think?

Another Debate Story

Assalamualaikum!

Sebenarnya minggu ni nak exam. Jadi, saya tak sepatutnya online.

TAPI!! Saya dah study semalam dan sekarang pun saya tengah study ni. Dan!! kepala saya dah serabut sikit Oleh itu! Saya online-lah kejap pada pagi yang serba indah ini. Daripada tidur, baik online, blogging. Kan kan?

Actually, I just wanna tell you about my debate story, this year.

I participate in the SMKAMH Interschool Debate Championship again this year.
It is held by ex-SMKAMH debaters for SMKAMH students, last month.
I don't really have any intention to participate it this year because I am busy enough.
I got bunch of homeworks, srikandi stuff (xyah tau kot), and yeah, lot of others.

BUT!! One day.... in a school debate team training session, as usual......

"Who didn't participate in the Interschool Debate Championship?" Kak Ulfah asked.
I raised my hand with my two other friends.

In my heart says,"For real? We are the only three who didn't participate?"

"Iffah, why don't you participate?", Kak Ulfah asked. And then she said that this is the time for us to get experience, to ...yeah, you get the point.

And yeah, I don't really have any explanation why. To say 'I'm busy'? Duh, Kak Ulfah is way more busier. So, I HAVE to participate it. (My other two friends who raised their hands with me, they couldn't participate for some reasonable reasons. Really.)

So, I teamed up with my THREE understanding friends. So happy because there still friends who understand my situation.
Fatin, as the third speaker, still in my team like last year. Adlina and Nazatul, act as first speaker. They don't have any English debate experience. But, don't look them with one eye...(totally broken English)

Since we have some experience of debate from last year's competition and some experience from school debate team training, we feel...ok, maybe.

That's us, quarantine session.

There are 12 teams, and our team is named Axxess! Simple but nice. The judges are among the alumni and the school debaters.

In the debate room

Guess who?

This one is my friend, Fatin, the third speaker

And guess what?

Unexpectedly, without any means...

We made it to the Semi Final!

o.O ,O_O, 0.o, o_O...(4 of us)

We don't really have any intention to made it to the semi final. We don't even expect that we gonna make it to the quarter. We just wanna have some rest and finish our homeworks.

We are just a bunch of juniors who at first, are unintentional to participate, fighting with some bunch of superior seniors.

But we did it. Alhamdulillah~

Surprisingly, we made it to the 2nd place among 6 teams who will made it to the the quarter final. So, as the judge have said before, the 1st and the 2nd place will not have to compete in the quarter but GO STRAIGHT TO THE SEMI FINAL!

Waa~ so we have some time to do our homeworks, rest...and sleep, while we wait for the quarter final competition to finish. Huhu ^.^.

That's Nazatul. Stuck for a while.

 Still, who is that? (haha)....

That is Adlina! Confidently speaking.

Wait! Where's Fatin?

She's the one who is holding the camera. She became the reserve this time.

And yeah, we just only made it to the semi final. The team, that we opposed are Form 5 boys, and the last year's winner. And guess what? They also win this year. Just annoying to face them the second time. First time was in last year's debate championship.

It's okay. To made it to the semi final was already a WOW for me, and for us. The experience we go as a team, was priceless. The essence of debate is not just about having a brilliant brain and good speech. It's about teamwork. If you don't have teamwork, debate is not for you.

Thanks Fatin, Nazatul and Adlina for having the guts to team up with me, sacrifice your time and participate in this debate. Thank you! Sayang korang!

Kak Ulfah, Kak Laila and Kak Raihan had taught me a lot. Debate is not just something that we call 'co-curricular' activities. It is actually something will become a part of our life.
Debate actually makes me care more about what's happening in our world. So, it really kinda bring a lot of benefit.

Yeah, it's a bit too long huh. Huhu. I'm kinda expressing actually because I don't talk much.

Pray for my examination tomorrow, and not just tomorrow, for PMR also.
Gotta continue my studies. I'm such a procrastinator.

Wassalam~

Appreciate~

It have been almost a month. Lots of interesting things happened at the school. My hands just can't bear it, to blog about it. Although it means nothing.

Merentas desa, I didn't run, I'm a QM, a quartermaster. Some people call it Quli Maahad. Haha.

My spectacles. It somehow broke because of my roughness. And now I.....and my father, have a new spectacles!

Daurah Ilmiah. A three days programme for PMR students during holiday. I'm facing PMR this year!

Exam. I had an exam. Kinda hard. Just hope for the best.

Probably just that....but that's not all I wanna tell.

I still remember having a debate training about THW abolish boarding school in Malaysia. And we debate and debate and it end up a bit like a fight between 'budak luar' and 'budak asrama'. To be more honest, it is so unmatured, really.

I'm from the goverment side, supporting the motion. One of the points that we point was about affections. If we don't live in boarding school, we can stay with our family and you will feel more loved and secure. And that will help the students to bla, bla, bla..

At the end, our tutor, Kak Laila commented about that point. She said if we live at home, we will face our family everyday and we will feel boring but if we stay at the hostel we will actually appreciate our family more and the affections will be felt more. She's so true!

Cuba bayangkan kalau kita duduk kat rumah. Setiap hari kita menghadap mak ayah, adik kita. Lama-lama rasa bosan kan? Kalau duduk kat asrama, mesti kita rasa rindu. Bila kita dapat jumpa mak ayah kita, kita happy sangat-sangat, kan?

Well, the point is, bila seseorang tu ada dengan kita, kita tak menghargai pun, tapi bila dah berjauhan barulah kita nak menghargai orang tu. (I'm not talking about couples!) What we already have is actually more precious than what we wish for.
Just appreciate what Allah already gave you.

My Debate Story

A month passed and there are lots of sad, happy and frustrating stuff  happened. And, FYI, 99.9% of them are sad and frustrating. So, here's the story.

I participated the School English Debate Competition with my two teammates Fatin(first speaker) and  Sabrina. BUT, the competition was held at night. As Sabby doesn't stay in hostel, it's hard and she wasn't allowed by her caring parents to come at night .So, she was replaced by Hayana(third speaker).
The debate was sometimes fun but lot them are frustrating. The fun part was, I CAN SPEAK ENGLISH AS LONG AS I WANT without nobody saying, "Huuu, 'speaking' nampak.Macam Mat Saleh plak." And there was once the judge said "You're good!". Though it's nothing but to me...it's like....really? The frustrating part was we lose 3 times among 4 rounds.T.T. With a very high margin! I won once,...fighting with............Form 1 team.....with just 0.1 margin. So, it's nothing, really.

There was once we fight with the Form 4 team. And it was BOYS! And we debated about a thing named Anaroxia Nervosa. I never heard about it and as you know, we lost (as opposition). The other debate was with Form 5. And you know what, the team third-speaker is MY DORMMATE! She's very good! When her first and second speaker speak, we were as weak as paper as we had misunderstood the topic of the debate. And when she speak, we felt like we were being crumpled by her words. She talked clearly, non-stop! As you know, they won! It's okay for them to win as the next day was her birthday! It's her day.(My dormmates, she and I played with talcum powder to celebrate her birthday that night, huhu)

That's all about my debate story. We didn't make it to the quarter-final round. It's okay. It's a starter. Maybe I'll participate the next year debate. MAYBE~.Allah knows. WASSALam
